DeviantArt X SDCC Comic Creator Connection
DeviantArt is proud to announce that we’re collaborating with San Diego Comic-Con for their annual Comic Creator Connection, an event that gives visual artists and writers the opportunity to discover the perfect partner to craft a comic or graphic novel with! The Comic Creator Connection will be held in the Santa Rosa Room at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina from 7 PM to 9 PM on Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19, 2019. During each two hour session, artists and writers are given five minutes to talk to one another about their ideas and skills. It’s speed dating to find the ideal partner for your comic, bringing creatives together for a collaborative experience! We’re excited to work with San Diego Comic-Con again, and we’re looking forward to helping artists and writers bond over shared interests. Questions for You! Have you ever attended San Diego Comic-Con? Does this sound like the type of event you’d be interested in participating in? Are you an artist looking to

DeviantArt is making YOUR ART look like J#@%! by abigaia, journal
DeviantArt is making YOUR ART look like J#@%!
JANK.This is true for YOU if you are uploading PNG images for your submissions!
I'm writing this journal based on results from my own poll: at least 80% of artists choose to upload their artwork in PNG format. Because we care about image quality!
Here's how DeviantArt is treating YOUR art:
Whenever you upload your artwork as a PNG image of any size or quality of your choosing, and then set the Display resolution of the deviation to be LOWER than the image's original size dimensions, DeviantArt WILL convert your image to a JPG in the process of changing sizes. The images below illustrate this.

Thank You for Your Feedback on Eclipse! by Heidi, journal
Thank You for Your Feedback on Eclipse!
Last week, we announced the Beta launch of DeviantArt Eclipse — a completely redesigned version of DeviantArt that puts more emphasis on artists and their art. As a Beta release, Eclipse is still under development and only available to a small portion of the DeviantArt community. We use the Beta release to gather feedback that allows us to closely analyze deviant engagement and sentiment. Over 4,000 deviants have already tried Eclipse and many have shared their invaluable and much-appreciated feedback. We’ve received nearly 1,700 individual Eclipse feedback reports — including 407 bug reports, 532 feature requests, and 748 pieces of general commentary. Our team has read through and triaged over 60% of these reports and has a goal of completing all of them in the coming week. Thank you to every deviant who has taken the time to share feedback. Whether you’re someone who provided a few words or several paragraphs of candid response, we appreciate the passion you have for
